Repeat After Me. . . I Am NOT a Hoarder!

One of the things I've always said about my neatly organized, stuffed to the brim craft room (choke, gasp, cough, laugh), is that it is full of wonderful things that I can make and give and I don't have to go the store and buy something. . .  It's so much thriftier, isn't it?   It's not my fault that  clearance and dollar bins at Target, Michaels, JoAnn's,  Wal-Mart . . . are just brimming with bargains screaming take me home and make the most adorably cute gift out of me!!!   Most people would call this insane shopping hoarding, but I know my fellow craft sisters understand.   And you can never, never, never have too many flowers, ribbons, buttons, brads, papers, adhesives, stickers. . . you can just fill in the dot, dot, dots.    Here is a case in point;  I picked up several packages of gerber "whities" on clearance a while back. I knew that someday they would come in handy.    Here are the baby gifts that came out of them!  I didn't have to buy a thing and better yet, not even a ding in my stash was made! And no, you can not have the 2nd duplicate jar of flowers I just bought because I know I'm going to run out of the first two and then what?  LOL!!!

Onsie, Burp Cloth, Socks & Headbands.

The headbands are bought in the hair care section and are for older girls, 

but if they are new they fit perfectly on a baby's adorable head!

Bennett

This is my surrogate nephew Bennett. Dawn (his mommy) and I have been friends for almost 17 years. I waited a VERY long time for this little guy to be born. He was actually born in July and I made these hybrid announcements for her in late August, but things were really crazy at that time and I never posted them! I made 80 (hence the hybrid!) I'm nuts, but I'm not completely crazy! I did make all of his baby shower invites and goody boxes that you can see here.



He's already laughing, smiling and turning over. They grow up so fast!

Baby Eden Blocks

I didn't drink the water but many of my friends did! Back in baby-ville (with a twinge of jealousy I might add! This is for my friend Adrienne whom I met through my friend Tori. She now teaches my daughter piano lessons so you've seen her featured on my blog before! She had a beautiful little Eden a few weeks ago and I finally got her gift made! In my defense she wasn't sure of what baby girl's name was going to be until she was born and as a matter of fact she probably holds the record for number of ultra sounds needed to determine the sex of the sweet little baby!







I'd love to take credit for the tumbling blocks (although mine don't really tumble, they just sort of stack all skiwompesy), but I stole the idea from my friend Jenn. You can see her adorable set of tumbling blocks here. Mine doesn't have pictures because I'm letting Adrienne do her own, but I do like how it turned out. Hope the proud new mommy of beautiful baby Eden does too!

Mother To Be

A LONG time ago, I made a baby onesie out of a small white paper sack. Recently I needed a gift bag for a Baby Shower and I had zero appropriate gift bags in my stash, I had an aha moment and remembered the old baby onesie I had made. The gift was larger than a baby onesie, so I came up with this idea. This is the very quickly made result. I think it looks like a maternity shirt, don't you?

It's a Boy!

Have you ever looked at something so long that it just doesn't make sense anymore? It's a Boy just seems weird! It should be He's a Boy! or A Baby Boy! But "It's a Boy!" just doesn't make sense to me anymore! Maybe because I just finished these 65 invitations to my friend Dawn's Baby Shower and I've stamped 40 more for the favors which aren't done yet!

Gifties and Goodies for the Letter G

These little gifty, goodies are baby shower game prizes! The bottles each say YEAH, BABY, LANDON. . .All together of course they say Yeah, Baby Landon!
These are empty Fuze bottles altered with CTMH Building Blocks paper and stickease. Easy, but fun and cute for a little boy baby shower! I also made some much smaller ones as party favors using empty tiny restaurant ketchup, mayo and jelly bottles! My kids ask me before they throw every bit of packaging away. . . I am notorious for buying something just so I can alter the package later!
