Spooky Sweets

Just a little Halloween Goody for some friends:

Tins can be purchased with Jenn here.
Stamps and paper are CTMH or Papertrey ink!

Oh Mummy!

We made this Mummy Chocolate Bar Slider at Cards, Cards, Cards Friday night. It was a hit! My inspiration came after giving Jessica her history lesson on Ancient Egypt a couple of weeks ago. Her assignment was to draw something she learned in her lesson. . . I should post her artwork. She did a great job! The same day I had seen a candy bar made into Frankenstein. . . too complicated for me, so here is my tada:

Cards, Cards, Cards

Here are some of the cards we made on Friday. I promised I would post them, but I really wanted them to be a surprise. I was thrilled with the class and very happy with how all the projects turned out. . . I'm going to be stretched next month as the class voted for all Christmas cards! I better break out the hot chocolate and It's a Wonderful Life and get in the mood!

Sometimes Life Hands You Pumpkin Seeds

So, I said to myself, what are you thinking? You went to the fair yesterday, you had card class until the wee hours of the morning, you showed houses all morning. . . why did you promise your kids you would take them to the Estrella Hills Pumpkin Festival? Because, I say, I am a glutten for punishment and I don't know when to say when! BUT. . . in this case life handed me pumpkin seeds. You see, this fair was a charity event (and although I still haven't recovered from the closing of the Duncan Family Farms Pumpkin Festival--and the doom of our family tradition--)I was happy for a poor imitation. I was even happier when I discovered that my kids all got carve a pumpkin for the price of a small donation. So, you see, pumpkins carved, happy kids, and no cleaning up pumpkin guts for me! So it's not lemonade, but I'll take the pumpkin seeds!

Can they be any cuter than this?

I guess from what I've been told, Mamma's always love their boys, but I don't know if they are this crazy in love with them. . . I just can't stand it! And yes, here are more pictures of my boys dressed in girls clothes. This time, PJ's, courtesy once again of Jessica (she's one sick puppy. LOL!!!)

The Best Card Ever

This creation was made for me by my dear 6 year old Jessica. She made this completely unassisted, even down to the folding of the card. All of this was salvaged from a scrap pile from our friend Jenn. I am really proud of her and it really is the best card ever!!!

A Fair Day

So maybe it was better than fair, but we were at the AZ State Fair! Our day started with lots of lines. Lines to get in (on free Homeschoolers Day), lines for free rides (the kids each earned 3 free rides for reading and writing about 3 books), lines at the petting zoo (which really had a Zebu), lines for the bathroom after waiting in the previous lines and then of course, lines for Cotton Candy! The best part of the day (aside from watching W & W eat their very first bag of cotton candy --yes they each got their own) was having 3 of the 4 of my kids picked to participate in the Mad Science Show. Of course Walker wasn't too happy about being the one who didn't get his turn, but I'm sure the ride on the very huge slide made up for it! The worst part of the day was that W & W were not tall enough to ride on almost any ride. We went on the slide and resorted going back to it for a second run only to find out that they weren't tall enough and the carny didn't care that I had proof on my camera that they had already gone before! Walker especially didn't understand and was reduced to a puddle wailing "stop saying that, mom! I am big enough! Stop saying that!!!" I was really frustrated, but sad for him too! I also have to complain (slightly) that nearly NONE of the carnies spoke English and that many of the rides were being explained in Spanish. On top of that all the signs said "DO NOT PLAY OR RIDE UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND THE RULES. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, ASK THE ATTENDANT." Good luck with that!

This is a Tickitar

I love how children say things that you just can't help repeating (even though you know its your job to teach them the proper way to speak!) Walker and Wyatt call a guitar a tickitar. It say's "NNNN, Nanner, Nee, NNNN, Nanner, NNNN," according to Walker. I just think it is so cute! They have also always called their blankets, Monkeys and to this day we all call them that! Mikensee said B'cuter (computer), nummynums for M&M's and callepitter (caterpillar). I have some of these things written down, but I wish I'd taken the time to record every sweet detail! So for today, I'll treausre that this is a tickitar!

Fall Break - What break?

So we headed to the Rim for a few days camping. . . I really needed a break! Of course I worked like a dog to get ready to leave, hauled our trailer up to the mountains and we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the cool fall weather (it even dipped to freezing the last night!) We took a couple of neat hikes, one to a mountain lake and the other to a mountain sink hole. I only had to carry the twins for part of the way on each hike (yeah me. . . 45lbs of added weight!) We found a very cool abandoned "fort" that the kids really enjoyed -- it was adorable, right down to the mason jar with wild flowers in it! We played lots of games, ate way too much food and we saw several deer too! Here's a few pictures of a very memorable time.

So now we're back, I've done 14 loads of laundry, cleaned for hours and the break is all but a memory! I guess that's what family vacations are for. . . the memories!

Witchy Pooh!

I just adore this cute little stamp set from CTMH. I had to play with it tonight. I made this snack size popcorn gifty card and I think I'll use it for card class I like it so well!

Be Ready to Drool!

One family tradition that I thoroughly enjoy is the making and eating of Conference Cinnamon Rolls! Twice a year when General Conference is on, I make and serve hot, fresh, homemade cinnamon rolls. I have to prepare them the night before because they must refrigerate for 2-24 hours prior to baking, but oh, my, are they worth it! We enjoy them with whipped OJ so we can at least pretend we are eating a healthy meal!

Here they are being prepared.

Here they are HOT, FRESH and OOZING with Cream Cheese Frosting!

Here's my recipe card. (I try and make all of my faves into 6X6 scrapbook pages!) But I actually taught a class on making these last spring, so I made 35 of these recipe cards! Yes, nuts, I know, but I think the class really enjoyed them!

Our Other Favorite Set of Twins,

Sydney and Claire, turned 3 today! We had a blast at Mickey Mouse themed Bounce U party. This is part of what we gave them for their special day.

I matched the night light to fabric matching the decor in their bedroom!

L is for LiFE DeLIgHtS

Here are 2 Albums I made using the Life Delight Memory Showcase from CTMH. I just love them! I love their 9X9 size and that lthough the paper and kit is identical, I was able to make two completely different types of albums out of them! The first one is of my family and the second was a birthday/anniversary present for my friend Jen! I even incorporated 2 additional mini albums attached to Jen's album. It was a lot of fun and she even cried. . . gotta love a good gift like that!
